My "Girlie" Room

The scrapbook room is finished and Debbie came over last night for the big reveal and she loved it! Jim did a good job in taking the temporary wall down and he even surprised me (at Barb's suggestion) while I was gone for the weekend by taking the extra door out. I figure I spent around $300 for all the accessories, storage items, table, chair, lamps & window coverings. We already had the furniture & shelving units. Oh, make that $350 because I bought an Ott light yesterday. Thanks Barb, for all your help!

Your room is sooooo awesome! I'm jealous of all that space---but actually, I guess I had a lot of space one time too! I've just really "junked" mine up! I haven't even unpacked from our weekend yet.

Now for that big "blank" wall behind your table---how about a big bulletin board that you can put things on for inspiration? I already have something for it!

Thanks for letting me help---I just love this kind of thing.

PS I don't see your Ott light---did you find a pink one? What's on the mannequin? Also, love the dresser mirror with all of our vintage finds---and the framed prints. Looks great.

Yes, I got a pink light at Hobby Lobby. I bought a cheapy boa at the dollar store that's draped around the neck of the mannequin and the scarves the Japanese people gave me are on the waist. I bought an old transister radio at the antique mall for $2 and put it on the shelf with my sewing machine and the Western Union contraption you gave me. You really need to check out the St. Charles Antique Mall when you get a chance. It's huge!

Just a reminder, I'm Barb's friend.
Your room is adorable and makes me jealous. Do you always keep it that neat? I have a whole room for crafts also but it is smaller and like Barb's room...has too much "stuff" in it. I must say I'm inspired to "neaten" my room up and get a color scheme going on in there. I have an idea for behind your work table...how about some of those shelves that look like crown molding...you can place some of your completed items on them. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me know and I'll send you a photo. They sell then at Pottery Barn or Home Depot.

Hi Nancy,
Remember that my room is brand new and hasn't had a chance to accummulate a bunch of junk yet--but if I know Barb, she'll make sure she contributes to the "junking up" of my girlie room. I like your idea about the shelves.

You guys work good together. I love the new room. I even have my own drawer. Just missing the mini fridge/bar.
